Well the day started pretty good saw a big bear early, but he went right over a sheer cliff. Was not letting the dogs go down there. So headed out roaded for a bit took the dogs for a swim. I discovered that if you throw sticks in the water maxs bays at them, then dives in after them. Maggie not biig on the swimming:-D.

Well we headed out looking for more bears, maggie was the only one that didn't go in the water, so she got to ride up front while the dane and max road in the box. Note to self when ridding with a hound in the cab leave windows down.

All the sudden a big old bear runs a croos the road and sraight up the side of a cliff using an old dead fall to get up. Well maggie lights up and its echoing in the cab like crazy. Dogs had no chance of getting up that embankment so we moved on. With in 5 minutes another bear darted across the road, we were both pretty sure we saw a cub so held the dogs back and moved on.

Not even ten minutes later this nice two or three year old bust off the road and heads to the river so we get the dogs out, road um up to where the bear was and instantly they both strike and there off. Should be a nice short chase right, their headed to a big old river.

Well over the river across an island and over the other side of the river up in to the mountains they go. About a 1000 yards out bear in tree:-D Now we just had to get there river was way to deep to cross so the back track began we found the bridge crossed over drove in a close as we could then hit it on foot. Oh ya this was the WIFES first day running the dogs. About 2.6 miles to the dogs covered the distance fast jogging most of the way.

As we approach we can hear max and maggie, now to be knowen as m+m, baying like crazy. They are my to soaking wet dogs with there big old bear in a tree. M+M are jumping at the tree bitting the tree and having a good old time.:-D

Trees were real thick so i hope pics arent to dark

pics to follow:-D

Mrs. Cavebear here...I was happy to finally get out of the truck and get moving! With Maggie baying in the cab and jumping at any window she could, I couldn't wait for her to be released. She came to life instantly and that's a thrill in its own. Even though my lungs were burning, my legs unsure of how much more they could take of climbing and not yet being able to hear the dogs yet, I found it all quite exhilarating and very rewarding. Once we got to the tree and I could see that all was alright and the dogs weren't on the "run" again, I sighed a breath of relief. I must admit that the hype, relentless baying and charging the tree of Maggie and Max was at times overwhelming and I wanted the quietness of the wilderness to be restored. I knew that I'd get my wind back and eventually all would be calm again and so it was. I'd be up for it again because I prefer to be on the move rather than sitting in the truck...I get too restless. One thing is forsure, I have never smelled of such B.O. before...that I know of! Three words to sum it all up: Exhilarating, Exasterbating (at times) and Entertaining!
