I am starting to train my new hound for tracking wounded game. I picked up a set of tracking shoes but I did not think to save any of my deer legs, since they get strapped into the shoes. I was wondering if anyone had some left over frozen deer or other critter legs. I am in the lower mainland and would come to pick them up.

Are you such a bad shot you need a hound that often ? ;)
What kind of dog are you using ?
I would contact the highway guys, get a fresh one off a road kill (yeah its dumb but dont get caught picking up one yourself. If you have a trapper friend they can pick one up for you if they use it on their 'trap line')

Yeah it was a toss up between shooting lessons or a hound. The hound won. It is a Hanoverian scenthound. I will see if the highway have some road kill - good idea. Thanks

Post a pic if you don't mind, I like hounds and have never seen one (guess I could google it)
Good luck with your training.
Sharp looking dogs

how does he do naturally? My munsterlander will automatically track down dead and wounded big game. I had to break him if it so he would focus on grouse.

Are you going to use him for bear?

Yes I will be using him for all types of big game hunting
