i am driving through kelowna and vernon every day for the next week or two and was wondering if there are any good hunting/outdoor/hiking stores in either town and where they might be as i am not familiar with either town.

In Vernon there is the Outdoor store on 43rd ave, Del Selin Gunsmiths down below 27th ST. by Andrews Church, Surplus Herbeys Down town. Fisher's Hardware behind the Telus building and Ken Craft out on Hwy 6 just before the RR tracks as you are coming into Lavington

Kelowna has Hardcore Archery and site sponsor Grouse River Outfitters. Both worth a stop, look, and purchase!

Grouse River. Glenn has been great to deal with.

I agree - Grouse River is really a great addition to our area. Glenn and his staff know their stuff. The turkey seminar they arranged was outstanding. Hopefully the upcoming father's day sale is as good as last year.

Hardcore is also great. It's not the owner's main business - they do it because they love archery. Good product, prices and knowledgeable guys to deal with.

I second what Coach said.
Hard Core is the best for archery. Period.
Grouse River has or can get everything else.
Great service at both stores.

I know this is a late post, but if your still going through Vernon, you can find a good store in Valhalla Pure Outfitters. It is non-hunting but has just about everything else related to the outdoors.

To get there, go through Vernon on Hwy 97 and turn East onto 48th Ave. Travel through about 3 sets of traffic lights, past the Village Green Inn/Hotel, and turn left onto 24th Street where the Big-O tire store is. Valhalla is on the left about a block and a half down.
