This time of year and into summer, we used to go canoeing in the public marsh area just south of the southern end of Pitt lake. There were always lots of carp, some very large, cruising the flooded back waters. We would grab them with our hands when they buried their heads in the mud trying to hide from us. If it is legal in that area, I would imagine it would be a great place for bow hunting. Another place would be the slough just east of the Ruskin bridge on the south side of the hwy. once the fraser river june run-off has flooded the area. Probably any of the flooded sloughs along the fraser river waterway from Chilliwack downstream would have high numbers of carp in june/july.

It's legal, but only for coarse fish.

The is a thread on here about a bow-fishing derby (http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=49503). Might want to have a look there. Bowfishing is great fun and good target practice.

I've heard that it's OK to bow fish in Burnaby Lake. Might want to check that out to be sure though.

I have seen it done in burnaby lake. But the lake is being dredged right now.
and I dont think i would eat anything from that lake. I pulled 2 boat motors out, 3 various sized boats, (I used to be a kayaker there) And lots of wallets, tires keys and boots. Some of the fish that i have seen in there have multiple eyes and I cant prove this but i swear they had lazers shooting from their eyes.

LOL laser bolts outta their eyes, ears, and aresholes!!

I don't know as I'd want to eat any fish from a warm, shallow lake.
