My Son's Bear and Goat Back From Taxidermist

Did a whirlwind tour this weekend and picked up my son's 09 black bear and 08 mountain goat from Ray Wiens. I am very very impressed with the results. Ray did an amazing job on both mounts. Cody was thrilled to see them hanging on the wall.

Any reason why you didn't rug the bear? Hide looks good in the pics, but can't see if some of it was rubbed, too. Either or, good on Dana Jr, he has some GREAT stuff there!:-D

The hide was in great shape. The only rubs were on the head. He kinda has the monkey bear thing on his face. Rugs take up a lot of wallspace and we've got several critters rugged and several hides tanned. Didn't think we needed more. I've always liked bear shoulder mounts and thought this big ol' brute needed one. His character just seemed to dictate it. I told Ray I wanted a more realistic open mouth. Like a bear popping his teeth at ya, pissed off and letting ya know it. Ray was able to make that wish become reality. I am very very please with it.

That is just light from the potlight on the ceiling. Taking pics indoors is an art that I don't practice too much. I prefer outdoor photography. ;)
