sorry, not much of a story on this guy. A buddy of mine came up from the coast for a week-end of bear hunting last week-end. Put on lots of miles the first day and 3/4 but it just never came together for us. I was just thinking of starting to make my way back to town my usual route and for some reason decided to go a different way. Saw this guy crossing a field, buddy got set up where he thought the bear would come out and when he came out of the field to cross the road he made a great shot on him. Bear went 40 yds and piled up. bear was over 6' on the carcass and I think the the skull should easily go 19". his biggest bear to date, I'm gonna do a lifesize for him so he's pretty excited!http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/data/500/medium/PIC_0352.JPG

338, to get the right size form you usually use
A. eye to nose
B. Nose to tail
C. widest belly circumference

you order by a combination of all 3....eg. 7" X 72" X 46"

I think some manufacturers may use slightly different measurements such as adding a neck measurement or something, but just find out how a particular supplier defines their form and go with that.

Is there a rough rule for estimating live weight on this black bear. When I took him to my local meat cutter in the lower mainland. He said he was the biggest bear he had ever had in there by a long shot. He weighed in at 200lbs on the hook, the next largest he had in there was about 160. I know with deer it is about double the hook weight, is this similar for bears? I know a spring bear is going to weight less than a fall bear. Thanks.
