My wifes first bear

http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/01875.JPG After 3 seasons of hunting bears my wife was able to take this beauty this weekend,we decided to hunt a different area so we headed out to barrier, she took this guy at 70 yards with her .270 he went abot 40 feet and expired,seen a total of 17 bears 1 wolf and lots of deer.

thanks for all the congrats! she is definatley head over heals with this bear, we seen this bear 3 different times before closing the deal on him,we first seen him friday evening but was unable to make it happen so we carried on, our oldest son was with one of our friends hunting as they were making there way back to camp they had seen him in the same spot, he was able to sneak up to 30 yards from him but something happened and the bear spooked.I took my wife back into this valley to see if we could find him again, while we were in there we ran into a couple of people and they told us that they had just seen a big bear 1/2 km back so off we go again to see if we could see this bear but luck was not with us and he was no where to be seen. Now it is sunday morning and I am thinking if I should take the truck and camper towing the tracker into this valley, well I did as we were driving in my wife says to me were not gonna see anything we are making way to much noise bouncing around, no sooner said when we turned the corner ther he was feeding on a grassy patch, so in a full panic I stop the truck( the bear has not noticed us yet) we get out load the rifle and I tell her take your time and hurry up and shoot that thing!!! One shot with a .270 through the heart and lungs at 70 yards he ran acrooss the road and that was it for him,
I am glad that this is under her belt now cause it was really tough to get the first one done, it should be easier now!
