Well headed up to Grand Forks on the 15th of April, for the turkey opener. Went up last year for the end of the season, they were a lot more vocal. Called one in last year, it blind sided me and i didnt even know it came up behind me, and my one last cluck call spooked him off. Never seen a HUGE Turkey fly like that. It was awesome for me, no kill but called one in. woo hoo.
This year i headed up early, learned from my mistakes, and was pumped to get my first tom.
First day out, i belive it was a friday, beautiful day, prolly was around 930 in the morn and spotted a Huge Tom, and at least 7 hens, and a few more jakes. This Tom was mine. He did his strut, and the feathers made him look even bigger. Holy adrenaline. Loaded my shotty, and snuck up over the next knol, just to spot two hens heading straight up a cut block. He was already getting away, i thought. I walked back a few yards not to spooke all of them and started to run my ass up this huge cut. Keeping a hill betweeen us a ran for at leat 150yards and cut straight over to my right up on a rock for a vantage point. THERE HE WAS!! all the hens heads turned and looked at me. They turned right around and started heading back down. Another tom lit up his wings a jetted. The Big tom was too slow. Bang. Best turkey hunt ever!! Turkey hunts for me every year now for sure....

Now enjoy the picks..

Heres the group i spotted on the knol.
