do you send it off like a post card, as originally intended? stuff it in an envelope with a few others and send it off with regular postage or do you send it express or registered so it has to be signed for and signifies it's been received?
my first LEH...so now I'm wondering how concerned I should be with them getting in this late in the game. I don't mind spending the few extra $$$ for Xpress Priority or Registered, especially so since they'd not have much of an excuse to say they 'lost' them...unless it gets you marked by the MRF/MFR staff, LOL! at least then I'd know they arrived on time.

Just dropped mine off in the mailbox. I'm up here in kamloops for schooling but it should easily find it's way there in time. 5 in one envelope w/ a crisp 100 dollar bill inbetween...... Just kidding lol

Sent ours in an envelope. Someone on here mentioned cards floating around with all your info on them. Including your address and the obvious, "you have guns". So I thought I would put them in an envelope away from prying eyes. Sounded like great advice to me.

I don't trust the mail because it could get lost in the cracks, so I walk down from Kamloops, with the cards sealed in water proof container inside my gore-tex jacket, and hand them personally to the moe secretary in Victoria. It's a long walk but worth it .....

Pretty hard to staple $50 to the post card version. Much safer to include it in an evelope :)

I'm an internet tough guy, i always send em so the bad guys can see my address. if they are smart they will avoid the house stuffed to the rafters with knives and guns.

A local hunting license vender offers an overnight courier service for only a loonie. They send them one extra day early to ensure their arrival.
Can't beat that service!

That is a funny comment whats even funnier about that is I was just talking last week to a dad of a girl on my daughters baseball team. He claims his father inlaw puts a 50$ bill in with his LEH every year and apparently gets his draws.........I wonder I've been saying for years the draw is fixed but hard to prove. I was talking to another guy years ago in Langley apparently a relative of someone he knows works in the CO headquaters in Victoria and they all get their draws every year to!!!!!Interesting maybe next year Ill bite the bullet on 50$ and give that theory a try!?!?!?

They take a picture of your application and the money and send the money back.

I fill my leh out in black ink then put in separate white envelopes and seal them tight with spit then put in a clear plastic zip top freezer bag, then I strap them to my body under my clothes in a brand new water proof tear proof money bag body belted.
After securing the filled out leh applications to my body I walk to Victoria down through the bush along the old number 1 to Hope then the back roads to the Horseshoe Bay ferry and walk on incognito.
After arriving on the rock I hike into Victoria and hand deliver the package unsealing the cards and kissing each one individually in front of the worker to show I put evidence on it and then make finger prints all over them then hand them individually to the worker for their finger prints also.
It's a bunch of work but it get's me in better shape and I can sleep better at night.
Jelvis .. Put some effort and time into your 2010 leh applications for a change it will pay off.

I drop them at Hub Sports in Abbotsford where I buy the cards and they overnight courier them to Victoria for free.
They have been doing this for many years.

My Italian hunting buddy uses three carrier pigeons with one carrying the cards tied around it's feathered body and the other two pigeons flying escort in a slight V formation to cut down wind resistance. One bird has a tiny camera attached to its under belly and transmits live video back to his computer link. Shows the terrain and animals below. Pre-scouting if you will.
The birds fly to Victoria and into an open window at the main MOE office on Vancouver Island.
The staff love the birds visiting so the secretaries feed them and give them some good drink and a hug and kiss and set them on their way back to Kamloops. It's pretty cool. He gets all his leh requests applied for and a little perfumed note in each one with a phone number attached.
J. P. ..Morgan and Stanley and Penny are the three cute birds names .. lol
.... It's a lot of work but he loves his birds and they enjoy the annual event for LEH....

For years, as we always sent ours via DHL, and will continue to do so. Have heard of people, and personally know others who sent them postal, two people who had over a month before the deadline and they never made it to Victoria. I have been told buy a few people that other hunters, and anti-hunters that work in the postal will "lose" them. I don't mean to bash the postal service, or anyone involved in it, that is just what I have heard.

We put our shared app in a legal envelope, then take it and our individual entries and put them in an express envelope and send them off.
The express envelop is trackable, and costs about 10 bucks.

I personally think that you should at least put them together in an envelope away from prying eyes. this late in the game I recommend that you send them express so you know that it got there, maybe its just me but i'm not a fan of canada post

That is the exact reason everyone in my family, sends them registered. Either courier, or express post. This year I sent mine in with Tyee Marine, they courier them down. Both I and my uncle's have heard way too many times about people receiving their cards back at the end of May.
