On May 8th while hiking into our spot for the day, we ran into a heard of deer. So I thought I would play with them a bit. So i took out my trusty fawn bleed and started calling very softly. This was an awesome sight. After five minutes of calling, 4 other deer filed out of the bush. A doe and 3 fawns. I was thinking to myself.... wow this calling really works. Suddenly I heard other animal coming from the same spot.... As i was awaiting another deer, suddenly this nice dark chocolate boar made his way out of the bush. Not knowing I was there, he sat there fixating on the fawns. I waited for him to offer a clean 70 yard shot. The 165 Accubond from my Browning 30-06 A-Bold made it's mark. He took one lunge in the air and dropped. High fives to my partner and then the work began.

I know. He must of just woke up cause his pads were soft and claws had no wear. Never the less, he was good enough for me.

wasn't all that happy with the pics. Not my camera. He's got a nice dark choc face with a chocolate mien going down the full length of his back. looks cool. He'll make for good burgers and pepperoni...lol

Congrats! Were you using a fawn bleat or fawn distress call? I have a distress call I'm hoping to try soon. Nice bear.
