Well we finally have our new addition to the family in the house and settling in. He has taken to the household very well and him and our older Springer have already becoming good buddies. We settled on "Hogan" for the name and I just thought I would share a couple pics from the first weekend home. He is definitely full of Pi$$ and vinegar and has absolutely no fear or a timid bone in his body. He thinks nothing of going up and snatching a bone or toy right out of the mouth of our older Boone..lol.

Oh look out he's peeing on the floor!
he's a cute little bugger. What made you go Britney when you have a springer?

Yup, but the tall one needs a shave.:-D. Other than that, the springer spaniel looks right at home.

Nah he's not peeing on the floor. lol. He has been great. When we first decided on a dog it was a big time toss up between the Springer and the Brittany. So when we decided on a second it was an easy choice now I have one of each

My great uncle bread Springers, I love them. I have never been around Brit's to know what they are like to hunt behind. I have hunted behind some of the best Springers though.
Buck wouldnt touch a bird until they had all been put up, if buck was working you stayed ready. When buck spat a bird at your feet there were none left alive. He was lent out to a family friend one day, the guy couldnt shoot. Buck put up a bird and the guy missed. Buck put up a second and the hunter missed so Buck went back to the truck!

Looks like you have a nice pair of pooches. Im trying to get the wife to let me get another

Wow, nice pair of pups you have there Shooter. Both are fine breeds, I concur with the choice, Springers and Brittanys you will just have to get a Cocker now!

lol. I don't think there will be any problem there. I have to watch Boone closely when we go hiking because if I let him he will run until his paws are bloody stumps and Hogan so far appears to have more energy than Boone ever did when we first brought him home. He just tuckers out fast, lol.

On the first night home I woke Hogan up at 2am to take him outside and avoid accidents. The second night I woke him up at 3am to go out. Last night I decided to wait and see when he woke me to go out and he was good until 5:30am before he needed to go out and has had no accidents so far at night. And with the beautiful weather we have left the patio door open and he has it figured out to go into the back yard to pee.

I also had Hogan sitting on command tonight for the first time. He did it about 6 times in a row. He seems to be a little slower recognizing his name than Boone was tho.

He has been a lot of fun so far and Boone has been spectacular with him.

so glad to hear he is doing well! Try making him sit before he eats... a sure fire way to get him sitting on command. As they love to eat :-)

He sits before he eats now. As well he sits before I let him back inside and also has to wait with the big dog in a sit until I tell him its ok to come in. He is learning that one but doing pretty good. Also he is learning to sit while greeting you :) I love them at this age... they learn so quick lol.
