How long does venison keep in the deepfreeze? Got some left from late october, have I let it go too long?

Hell yeah, if properly wrapped in freezer paper. Once in a while i ll find an old pack mixed in with the new stuff, which would make it almost a yr and a half old, no freezer burn. From late october it should still be great.

should last for some time, i have never had any problem eating mine from year to year, cook it slow in the oven if a roast, or steaks, maranade them over night and BBQ them all should be good,/

If it's only in paper I use before 3 months, if vac sealed should last a couple years. You shouldn't die, it just tastes less than perfect. Just one guys opinion though.

good to go,,no problems there, i make sure to eat up all mine by August, and that means 11 months for most of, because i usually take all my game in September;)http://smilearchive.com/s/contrib/blackeye/hihi.gif

I'm still eating Muley and WT steaks from last Oct and Nov. Nice and rare. Taste great. If it ever did get freezer burnt, I'd just make stew.

We like to wrap our meat in plastic bags and freezer paper. Light bags similar to the ones you put vegetables in at the grocery store. Wrap the meat in tight, forcing the air out of the bag then a couple twists and a fold to keep it sealed. Really seems to make a difference for freezer burn. We've had stuff up to two years after a good season with no problems.
