Headed out with Mully for our annual moose camp. Got into bulls the first day.

Came in real nice. Able to count points well, but no luck on this fella:

Further into the trip, this fella came in real hard. Had a cow with him, and he was ready to fight for her. Came in to 30 yards.

Pt 2.
This bull kept coming. Pretty exciting stuff. This'll keep ya going out days like this. Had 5 bulls this morning going. One a real tank, but would come to treeline and not show himself.

Got plenty close, but just couldn't find the right number of points. Maybe if we got closer?..........
Ended up in a new area, a day later.
Called in a couple bulls in the thick timber along a creek. Actually think they may have been preoccupied with each other in that stuff. Would appear to be coming to us. Sounding like they were coming out. Grunting, raking antlers, breaking crap all over in there...but may have been a cow.
Off to our left, I noticed a cow had come out to see what all the ruckus was. She was looking where the 2 bulls were, and occasionally at us calling, but always went back to focusing on the other "real" bulls.
Behind there was another black body. Eventually, out came her bull calf. Had 2-point spikes on either side, and Mully was looking for a nice bull for the freezer. This was it!
I wanted to wait to see what would come out below us and try for a "double" and possibly the "60" I've been looking for.
To no avail...those other bulls were not coming out.
Mully took his first bull moose, at 280 yds.

Now the work starts. Had a couple other hunting buddies come give us a hand.

Congrats Mully! It was a good hunt that week. Helped having a comfortable camp to come back to.

Sweet pics Grant. Betcha he was good table fare mmmhh.

Ahh the memories are flooding in. Last year was the first year I didn't take a moose in a long time and will be the same this year as my son will be cutting my tag this season I hope.

Nothing better than a big ole bull coming in ripping and tearing things up unless of coures he's legal:wink:

Too busy enjoying cow elk steaks, Wade. Haven't heard Mully complain about that young bull, though.
