Two lack luster seasons, a new rifle and the craving for some bear sausage all clashed togther tonight and I decided to take this meat bear. One clean shot with the new rem 700 7mm and the work began. Wasnt very big 5' but was big enough for one guy to wrestle into the back of the truck. Now I can at least enjoy some pepperoni while I hold out for the 7 footer.

Nice job, and thanks for the pics. I think you are a bit off with your size estimate though. He looks to be about 6.5-7 feet with a weight somewhere near 650 Lbs.:mrgreen::-D
Sorry..... couldn't help myself.

congrats on the nice bear , and dont despair , the young ones are better eating and its not like there is any kind of looming shortage. you should try to save some of the finer cuts for steak / stew / ground . the flavor is really nice .

Congrats on the nice eater. I am just about to take out my buddy to look for one. I convinced him to get his CORE this year, so this could be his first animal :)
