Couple of dum questions, but i would rather ask the professionals.Just picked up a heavy barreled .410. Does anyone know what type of .45 ammo I would buy to fit with this? Also got a 6mm -I can shoot .243 out of it right?

I've heard there is a load for 444 marlin brass to shoot in a 410 but don't quote me on it, some one may chime in about that

google may have the answer for both

If its a 6mm Remington u have then no u should not shoot 243 Win ammo thru it.
They are not interchangeable.

As to the 410/45 question I'm sure someone will chime in on that one.

45 Long colt will work in the 410...just make sure the barrel is capable of handling the pressure.

Here is a Wiki link to read about it

Not a dumb question. It's better to ask, then to blow your hand off.

I have 6mm and 243 rifles and reload for both. The 6mm and .243 use the same size bullet, but have different size and shape cases. Much like a 30-30 and a 30-06. They are not interchangeable

DO NOT shoot a .45 colt out of your .410. .45 caliber bullets are at least .040 too large in diameter for your barrel.

With some research and some reloading experience you can load .40 calliber cast bullets, round lead balls, and buckshot from your 410 using 410 hulls or 444 brass. I do it all the the time.

Shooting ammunition not intended for your firearm is very rarely a good idea.

I can shoot 410 and 45 LC out of my Survivor but it is specifically designed for that.
I don't suggest you try it unless your firearm specifically allows it.
