I have a Chevy crew cab. Would like to start using my canoe again so I am thinking of using one roof rack on the cab and a goalpost hitch on the trailer receiver. Any experiences with this setup? Will the hitch fit snug enough so that rattling noise will be kept to a minimum?

If you're worried about it rattling around put a motorcycle strap from the goalpost hitch to one of the cargo tie downs in the bed to keep it snug.

you could also take a drill and run another hole through the reciever and put 2 bolts through instead of using the removable pin. a little more time consuming but worth it in imo

I have a similar setup for my canoe and Tacoma. I found the straps included with this setup are pathetic, but the actual stand is solid. I load and unload my canoe off of solo and it takes a lot of strain with not a worry. The one thing is that I can't get my tailgate down all the way with this in the hitch. One of those hitch extenders would solve that though.
