has anyone owned one of these pups or have first hand knowledge of them. Very similar to the pointers and Weims. there only seem to be a few breeders in Canada and only in Ontario. Any info would be great. Thanks.

There is some nice ones in the lower mainland. Contact the BC All Breed pointing dog club and they may be able to help you.

My in-laws got one from a breeder in Ontario. Holy crap that thing has psychiatric issues! He's a beautiful dog and fast as the wind but extremely high strung.

My parents had one, and I would hunt over it when there was a lot more hunting access in the Okanagan. The website for the Vancouver Island breeder pretty much sums up the temperment and the physical exercise requirements for this breed. One thing that I found when hunting with a Viszla is that they excel in open grassland, but they don't do as well in heavy cover.

I've got one and am real happy with him. 6 months old. Great disposition. Medium energy. Doesn't shed much or bark much. Got him just over the border in Blaine. So far he is more of a pointer than retriever. He went in swimming on his own for the first time on Saturday. Put it this way, my wife is happy with him and she complains about everything. I can PM you the breeder if you wish.

I thought you were getting a DK?

there were a few issues, I can tell you over PM if you are interested because I know you were looking at them as well. We are still looking for a DK or GSP and we had the pleasure of meeting a Vizsla this weekend who was one hell of a dog, so I thought it would be worth looking into.

Angel ever look into a poodelpointer breed very close to the dk and gsp. That is the breed i'm leaning towards.

the hardest part of dogs like pudel pointers, DK's, Vizsla is that they are very difficult to find a breeder close by or with available pups. If you are not getting a Lab its a tough go.

Have you checked out this kennel?

http://carlasimages.com/theme_11.html

On the links page is listings of other breeders and clubs too.

http://carlasimages.com/theme_8.html

Don't know anything about them except that "Jaybren" dogs are shown here. Don't believe there is a breed split as there is in labs and goldens.

Regards,
Kasomor

Yes it isn't very big is it? The name on the email matches with the name of the lady pictured.

Angel very true no breeder in b.c. for the pudelpointer. I'm going to go with bob farris from http://www.cedarwoodgundogs.com/ seems to be the go to guy for pudelpointers and he will find you a pup but it may not be somewhere close to go see.
