Hnmmm, thinking of getting a Bushnell Elite 3200. 3x9 40 mill. Thoughts anyone? Good or bad, would like to hear it all. Leupold 3x9 comparable doesn't have rain guard and this does and a little bit cheaper. Gaurented for life. My 2x7 Leupold 28 mill was fine but my older eyes are now older. and thatsalittlebitwhathappenswhenyougetold.

the rainguard feature is not worth owning a bushnell... get a leupold and be happy... I am super impressed with my VX-1

I put the same on my 700BDL two years ago, replacing an older Weaver.
Major improvement in clarity and low light vision.
Not a problem yet with any aspect of it.
My old eyes are getting a lot older a lot faster than I am so I appreciate the improvement. My shots are max. 200 yards (and that's a stretch) and it works for me.
Coulda spent a lot more but realistically, any improvement over the Bushnell would have been minimal for my purposes.

I love my elite never had any issues with it. I have it on my rem 7mm I put a set of flip up scope caps on it and all is good never had it fog or let me down. I have a 4x12 burris on my .270 and it is also a good scope but you get what you pay for with optics so keep that in mind.

cheers

I bought the 3x9x40 3200. It is a good scope, but if I had it to do over, I would buy the leupold or a Vortex! Way better glass in a leupold or vortex In my opinion! Moosin

The scope may be ok, but the way they honor their warranty sucks. Leupold has about a 1-2 week turnaround whereas Bushnell more often than not takes forever. I know of one guy in town whose Bushnell went wonky on him at the begining of the season and didn't get it ba until almost a month after the season ended. Fortunately he had a spare or he would have been hooped. The onloy thing I suggest to anyone buying a Bushnell is to buy two so you don't get caught in that situation.
I've heard from a reliable source that the reason for the difference is that Leupold is serviced in Canada and Bushnell in the states.

I bought one ... Its better than ok for the cost ....I didnt have alot to spend ... I think I dropped close to a grand that day at OSS and the scope was the most expensive item at $240 or something

4 years ago I put the bushnell elite 3200 3x9x40 on my .284 good scope for the 220 bucks I spent on it. Never had any issues with it fogging up and the rain gaurd works as advertised.

$259 at walmart about three years ago. Never any problems and clear as can be. The only thing I don't like is I can't put flip up ends on it because of the focus ridges.

I have the 3-9x40 3200 elite also. It's been great-It's taken some serious bounces off some rocks, and it still sights dead on! (now if only I could shoot straight;))
I've had it on my 30-06 since I started 6 years ago, it's never fogged, and it's always clear in the rain. I just wish I hadda bought the black one, stainless is much too shiny for the forest.
The warranty dept is good too-they just sent me new binos cuz my old ones fogged up-it took a month, but at least it happened. I imagine the same would happen with the scopes.

I too have a 3200 3-9x40, and like it. Clarity and quality are IMHO excellent for the price, and have had no issues. Mine sits on a magnum to boot. Maybe someday when I'm rich and famous I'll upgrade, but it's a good scope for me and my budget.

Ok, thanks alot, all positive replys. I will be buying one on Wednesday. It sells for $227. $3 less than getting it from Cabelas. Just got to make my mind up whether it's worth the extra $100 to get the one with all the little lines under the cross hair for shooting up to 6oo yards. As I said to Rick at Tyee Marine 600 yards is too far to pack an animal out anyways. He agreed. He will set it up for me. Will need new scope rings but the mounts will be fine. Wonder if my Leupold 2x7 is worth anything or should I just keep it and mount it on my 22. I love to eat grouse.

Being the swell all around big hearted guy that I am, I'll give you $25 for that nasty old Leupold. You wouldn't want to ruin a perfectly good .22 with a scope like that would you?

I got a 3200 as a package deal with my Rem 300 win mag. First trip out ( after being carefully sighted in of course) and lots of target shooting. The scope was way out ( 5ft high) ended up missing a book blakie. Very upset. I came home and took the scope off immediatly and got myself a Leupold instead. I don't know if I just got a bad one, but I will not be buying one ever again.
