Well after three months of editing, three computer crashes, one f'd up dvd burner, multiple attempts at uploading on to you tube, I was able to save some of the video, lost the final copy, with all the fancy transitions and the ending. Needless to say I'm over it,:-? But here it is. The intro is from what bcbillies posted for me awhile back, because you tube wont let the music play:evil:.
Any ways thanks to all who sent pics, thanks to bigbore14 & bcbillies for days on end trying to get the video footage of their hunts to me.
Sit back with a couple of wobblies and enjoy.........

Maybe this could get posted as a sticky in the photo/video forum.

sorry this video has been deleted cause some members did not give permission to have their pics in the video....again my appolagies....

This is the first time I'm seeing this as I have been on dial up and don't normally click on videos. All I can say is WTF??? Why is it my photos are on this thing without anyone asking my permission to use them. I normally don't use HBC as a photo hosting site as I have a photobucket account. So in order for the creator of these videos to get my pics he would have had to copy them everytime I have posted up pics in a thread. This is in itself, illegal. Just because I don't have a watermark on my pics doesn't mean the creator of this video can steal them at anytime he wants. If I had of been contacted, I probably would have sent some of my pictures to the creater, but just using them without my permission is not only cheesy, it is flat out WRONG!!! I post pics for the hunting community of BC to enjoy. I did not want a world-wide audience on Youtube. Thus the reason I do not post any of my stuff on Youtube. I have my own video footage that is hosted by Hunting sites like Monsterhuntclips, where I have an audience with like minded hunters, not the general world wide public that Youtube is. It is not just pics of me and my friends, but it is the pics of my kids that are on this knockoff piece of $hit video that pisses me off. It really makes me think twice about ever posting a picture on HBC again. I understand the owner and mods of HBC had nothing to do with this video and the creator was actually looking at selling this thing as a DVD. So as a warning to everyone else, this guy was planning on making money off of your photos.

Jetboater
08-18-2011, 09:23 AM
I totally agree, nobody ever asked to use my pics as well. I think you at least deserve a heads up if pictures of your family are posted as they never signed up for it... probably will be the last time I post pics on HBC.

Stone Sheep Steve
08-18-2011, 09:36 AM
I didn't give permission either ...but I enjoyed the video so much that I didn't worry about it. It was done for the benefit of most one here and not for personal or business gain.
Just my opinion.

Dana just so you know, I don't know you at all but It took a 2 second search and found your videos on monsterhuntclip and then with information there I had access to your photobucket account 2 seconds later. You've posted it all on the internet and anyone can go look and copy your photos.

If you are concerned about the use of your photos you should set up security on your photobucket account.

Yep. When ever you post a picture anywhere on the internet it can get stolen.
CGN,,,, Girls and guns thread. A guy posts a picture of a girl he saw online and thought it a good one. Another guy responds to the thread with "That is my wife i took that picture" The poster had found a picture of the otherguys wife somewhere totally seporate from where the husband had put it.

I totally dis agree with people worrying about where pictures go online. It is the internet, Things get stolen it is not your home photo album.

I agree with Dana.....It is very innappropriate to be utilizing his pictures without permission.....Not like it is too hard to drop him a PM asking if he would mind....

However I am just jealous cause none of my pics got selected (NOT)....Guess I just shoot too many "dinks", making them not worth posting ....

I do commend Brock on a very nice job in putting them together though, even though he did "steal" some of the pics....

My appolagies to every one that feels their pics were stolen in order to make this video....again my appolagies brock

KB,
I am not an idiot and I understand once a picture goes on the internet there is absolutely no control over it from there. I am not pissy about that. But to be a member of a site that this so-called project was being made for and not even a single PM to ask me for permission is flat out WRONG! To top it off, look at the so-called cover of the project. My elk picture graced the front cover. A picture of mine of my buddy and his buck graced the back cover and there was a little thing in one corner that said, COPYRIGHT. I doubt Brock ever copyrighted it but don't you dare steal my stuff and then claim it for your own with a copyright. A lot of my pics I have given to magazines for free. I've never been a 'for profit' kind of guy. And even if this so-called DVD was to make money just for HBC, why wouldn't you ask me if I wanted to be part of that? I saw not to long ago the desire of the owner to have an HBC calender so he could sell to help out the site. He didn't copy my pictures. He instead asked the membership for submitals. And guess what? I never submitted a single picture because I really don't see the need to have someone else profitting from my work when I could very well go do the same and have the money go to me. Brock has apologized but I still have a sour taste in my mouth because in order for him to get my pics he would have had to right click on each picture and 'save as' to get them for himself. You do this, you know you are taking what isn't yours. Like I said, a simple PM asking me for some pictures, I would have gladly sent him some pics without him having to steal them.

Dont the picutres posted on HBC, belong to HBC? I know the the video may not be made by HBC but if HBC made the video then I would belive that the mad men in question would not have a reason to be.

Think that comment through. If it were true, and I uploaded my pics to photobucket, would they not then be photobucket's. And then if I linked the photos to 5 or 6 other hunting sites that I frequent, who then would own them? Just because someone links photos in a thread on a site, it does not give over ownership of said pictures to the site owner.

Regardless, this is not a HBC venture. This is just an HBC member that did his own thing and used the name, HBC video. Those that are upset that the video has been pulled should be blaming the member that created the video. He didn't do his homework and went about it all wrong. He is the reason the videos have been pulled not me.

For those that can't understand my anger on this issue, you need to put yourself in my shoes. While I am not a professional photographer, I enjoy the hobby and I'm pretty darn good at it. I don't own top quality gear but I have had many professionals comment on how good my photos are regardless of my gear. I could go to that next level and start marketing my photos and actually make some money on it if I wanted too. I have chosen not to at this point and time. Outdoor/wildlife photography is a passion of mine, no different than my hunting passion. To have a member of HBC steal my pics without permission for their own project, it really burns. And yes, I might now not share my photos on this site ever again because of what has gone on here.

brock77

when i was making the video i was burning the candel at both ends....working 12 hrs, up at 5 am-home @ 8 pm and come home and edit for another 4-5 hrs a day for three months...on that note....
Dana is right....if he was not contacted for his apprival then he has a right to be p.o....i could have swore i got them pics from this site in the photo gallery, and had the okay... ....but anyways
Not sure what happend if i got names mix up, both my inbox and email adress were flooded with pics and aprrovals when maken the video...regardles i respected his opinoin ....and "i" decided to pull the video instead of re-editing the video.....it was the right thing for me to do....
But please dont let me and my misstakes stop u and others from posting pics on this site....mark and the mods have done a great job at keeping this site going.....

I didn't get to see the video but I'm sure it was awesome. Sorry some people are attacking you. Looks like you've fixed the problem and apologized a few times already and it still hasn't been noticed.

You should be able to find out whether you were 'wrong' by looking in the terms of use of photos on this site. Most sites take ownership of content that is posted to them and reserve the right to delete anything that doesn't fit the terms of use. Some sites go so far as warning people that by posting you are basically transferring ownership.

Gotta love the comments from some people vowing to never post photos on the site again..... "I'm taking my photos and going home :( "

I'm pretty sure most users will still visit the site even if a special someone never posts photos again.

Sites like photobucket don't claim ownership, but in thier terms of use, you agree to allow them to use and reproduce your stuff. Many websites like photobucket, facebook, and even gun forums have similar terms of use

Check out Photobuckets terms

http://photobucket.com/terms

And form FB

"By posting user content to any part of the site, you automatically grant … an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid, worldwide licence … to use, copy, publicly perform, publicly display, reformat, translate, excerpt (in whole or in part) and distribute such user content for any purpose, commercial, advertising, or otherwise. … Facebook does not assert any ownership over your user content

In light of these terms of use, it might be a good policy for those that don't want their pictures used/copied/linked to/mucked with by photoshop etc to just not upload their pictures- anywhere.

I've seen my pictures copied and reposted in various locations, and of course there are a few famous pictures of me that have been photoshopped- definitely without my permission! ;) :)

Waaaa! What a bunch of crybabies.

Don't want your pictures all over the internet? Then don't post them on the internet in the first place.

if I post a pic to HBC then I expect it to be free for all to use....same for video, it is posted for people to enjoy, if you can make a buck off of it ..good for you...I will continue to post pics, videos from time to time , you can use this as "permission" to use...LOL DD

Wah, wah, wah! Some people on HBC need to get over themselves. The guy tried to make a kick ass vid(and sounds like he did) and he gets shit all over, by the same guys that shit all over everybody on a regular basis.

I feel bad for Brock. He happily worked so hard for something he thought we would all enjoy and it backfired in his face. It's hard to please everyone I guess. Thanks anyway Brock I enjoyed it this morning before you had to pull it.

Its the legality of it, its illegal to copy someone elses photos and then re use them as your own without permission of the owner. Some may not agree, and insist others are just complaining but its the owners choice what they want done with their property. As simple as that.

I have had people use photos of mine to create silhouette decoys but they asked before hand and we came to terms. What if that same person used my photos to sell 10,000 decoys and make alot of money, and I'm out to dry?

I know this video wasnt for profit, but its the principal of the matter in my eyes.

Bang on! How would you feel if you go to the magazine stand and flip through a hunting magazine and find an add for some hunting product and low and behold your picture is the basis of the add. The company is making profit off of your work and you haven't even been told.

As for this video, what really got me going when I opened this thread was seeing a DVD cover with my photo gracing the front and seeing on the jacket cover, COPYRIGHT. Like seriously, how would you feel if someone took your stuff and copyrighted it and then started making money off of it? This is not a matter of me crying, this is a matter of a common decency and common sense. Brock didn't use either. And his excuse of burning the candle at both ends blah blah blah doesn't work. I have only had a small amount of material hosted by HBC's photo gallery. 99% of the photos I saw in those videos were direct from my photobucket account which he would have had to right click and 'save as' to get onto his computer. By doing this, he knew exactly what he was doing. You can't give me some lame ass excuse that you had lost emails ect and you 'thought' you had contacted me. Flat out, he did not contact me. And when it comes to terms of use agreements that some are bringing up, is Brock someone that is part of that terms of use agreement with photobucket???? By me uploading to photobucket did I somehow unknowingly agree to some dude named Brock copy and pasting my photos to his computer so he could make some so-called HBC hunting video? Nope, I don't think so.

As for taking my toys and going home, I've given HBC a time out in the past and can easily do it again. I know full well many many members enjoy my pics and to have members take advantage of me, I can easily just not post any more of my pics on this site. IMO, some of you are making me out to be the bad guy when the guy that royally screwed up was Brock.

I'm just posting the terms of use info because until dana complained about this, I hadn't looked into it much, and warning those that don't want their pics used to be aware that if photobucket or other sites like it want to use your pictures- they can, and you can't stop them unless you want to remove them from the site.

Here is a short bit by CBC news about this topic:

Copyright and the internet
Much of the material posted on the internet, such as text, images and music, is subject to copyright. Just because information is available for free on the internet doesn't necessarily mean people are free to make copies and redistribute it. This distinction between the two kinds of "free" is sometimes made by calling them "free as in beer" (gratis, without cost) and "free as in speech" (liber, free of restrictions). So, just because information is available for free (as in beer) on the internet doesn't necessarily mean people are free (as in speech) to make copies and redistribute it.
For example, if a someone puts up a website, he may either expressly or implicitly give a licence to persons surfing the internet to browse the site. The licence may also extend to other activities such as the downloading of certain permitted software. How far this permission extends depends on the circumstances and the permissions granted, or the restrictions imposed, by the owner in the legal conditions posted on the site.
Copyright violation may apply to a person who makes an unauthorized copy of a work and makes it available to the public over the internet. For example, someone who copies a photograph and posts it on a website without authorization from the copyright owner would be infringing copyright. So would someone making unauthorized copies of software available for downloading.

However, we all know that pics get copied and posted all over the place without permission....And you need to go to court to force someones compliance. So that is why I recommend if someone doesn't want their pics used, I'd simply not post them on the internet at all.

People what has been done is wrong. I wish I saw it but my loss. Please do not quit posting pictures on here as I enjoy viewing and I would like to thank those that do take the time and effort. Apology accepted for a major error. We all make mistakes and learn from them and you were man enough to admit a mistake.

....."I'm taking my photos and going home...

This is nothing new....

I have no problems when I post pics of myself, but my wife and family are a different story......

I just googled "Chad Gilmore Pemberton" thats my name and the town I live in. Nearly every photo I've posted on the web was there including my wife and kids. I don't post photos of my family anywhere on the web if I don't want them broadcasted to the world. If you publicly post pics on the web regardless of which website you use they are not yours anymore. Its astonishing that this is news.

I can't believe this is what you think. What you're saying is like if you loaded up a video on YouTube it's no longer yours. Try telling that to multimillion dollar music companies that put music videos on YouTube. You think you can copy their video and re use it? You'd be slapped so quick with a threat of a lawsuit it wouldn't even be funny.

They say something is copyrighted the moment it's created, and it all depends on the owner as to how far they want to protect it. Watermarks in the picture, name, copyright symbol. If someone wanted to go to the courts they'd be on thin ice trying to win if they didn't add any addition copyright to their photo, but as a principal it doesn't make it right

It all comes down to how "far the owner wants to go to protect it."

It seems that for most private individuals not making money from their music, videos, images, etc, it's not worth it to hire a lawyer to force someone to cease and desist and/or sue for damages or payment fees. So if it's a concern, the answer would be to not upload pics to the internet.

To put this into this context- When asked, brock77 removed the videos, but if he refused, it would have taken legal action to force him to comply. Fortunately, he did the gentlemanly thing and simply apologized and removed it as soon as he was made aware of the concerns.

People also shouldn't steal your car from your driveway, but I bet you don't leave your truck outside with the keys in the ignition do you? Why..... because that would be foolish!

Your argument doesn't make any sense. Anybody can find pics on photobucket and right click on them, then use them however they want. If you're so concerned about your family photos and people making money off 'your' material, then why would you post it to the web when anyone can figure out how to copy the material and use it any way they like.

IMO your making yourself look like the bad guy here. The fella apologized and took the video down. You seem to need to continuously cry foul and then 'punish' us by limiting your 'contributions' to this site. How would have things gone differently if you took the high road and just asked to not have the photos used without the unnecessary character judgements on the original poster?

Let me ask you this... do you really think the poster woke up one morning and said ' hey i'm gonna steal (your name here)'s photos and try to get credit and make money off of them ' ?

I doubt it. He tried to make a cool vid.

Sure thats the law...but thats not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the internet and the way things actually are.

As far as you-tube and multi million dollar record companies...check out the good ol' tunes thread right here on HBC, what your talking about happens night after night in that thread yet nobody from Warner Bros has contacted me yet and I doubt anyone else for that matter. As far as my vids on you-tube being mine, sure I made them but if I actually wanted to make sure that nobody else used them for anything the last place I would post them is on the internet. If people create vidoes, images, music or whatever and post it on the net and actually believe their media isn't going to get used elswhere thats pretty naive.

Regardless of what happens on the internet, it still don't make it right. I can steal a song or I can download it when I pay for it. The choice is mine but there still is a right and wrong. And when it comes to the HBC video the easiest and simplest way for them not to WRONG another fellow member was to just simply ask. And from the looks of this thread, I am not the only one they didn't ask. So again, don't come on here and sing me a song that I'm a Cry baby wha wha wha. If this was such a big epic project that they say it was, then they had ample time to DO THE RIGHT THING. This is why I am harping on it. You want to use my pics, just ask, and I probably will let you use my pics. Simple as that. ASK!!!!

Dana has every right to be upset. Those of you that don't understand, you have no respect for ones wishes, and probably never will. It is really too bad that some are making Dana out to be the bad guy, just antagonizing the situation even more. Maybe if it wasn't for you select asshats, a few PM's between Brock and others might get the video back up and running, which is something I hope can still happen. It sounds like Brock spent a fair amount of time making a great video for all to enjoy. Either way, thanks for the effort Brock. You did the right thing pulling the video.
