I am no expert but if I read the regs correctly, they are a thin horn and you can harvest a full curl.

There are the Fanin sheep in BC, and the Stones but I think that you would be hard pressed to find a Dall in BC in hunting season.

I am thinking that they may winter in and up near atlin but were all the GO's are is usually further up in the Yukon and NWT.

I may be wrong tho.

All Dall's and "white" sheep are under LEH in BC and finding one during hunting season is quite attainable if you get drawn and are willing to put in the time and put on the miles. Some areas are "easier" than others...the odds for the hunts speak for themselves. There are no Dall's near Atlin, you need to go farther northwest. There are some pretty light colored sheep around atlin but they are considered Fannin's...

Dall's Sheep in BC tend to summer here and move north into the Yukon to winter, with some exceptions in the western half of their BC range where the terrain is more favorable for over-wintering.

Access is fly in and the ground is extremely rugged. It's unnofficially known as the "rock pit"...

I dont think there is a single outfitt charging 32 K for a guided dall sheep hunt. Check the cancellations and unbooked hunts during june, alot end up going for 13-16k in Yukon or NWT

There are only two BC outfits that offer Dall's Sheep hunts, one has no prices listed on their website and the other lists them at $16900 this year and $17900 next year (plus licences, royalties, and a 1200 transportation fee), so basically $20000 + taxes. If I was to buy a guided Dall's hunt I would definitely look at the NWT or Yukon. Better sheep numbers and better quality rams overall IMO.

Dall Sheep units are 6-28 and 6-29. Everything west of Bennett Lake is recognized as Dall sheep range and east of there, Stone's sheep range (which includes very light coloured sheep in the 6-27 unit)

6-29 is the tougher zone to draw but your best bet to harvest a Dall ram. Access is primarily off the (west) Haines Highway at a well known crossing. These sheep both winter and summer in BC and contains the highest Dall population in BC.

6-28 is both fly in and / or hike in east of Haines Highway and much easier to draw but also typically tougher to find rams. The name "rock pit" is very true. SSS and I flew in and wore out our boots over a 2 week period in there. Gorgeous country!! Historically, this unit has produced the biggest Dall rams in BC. These sheep tend to go back and forth seasonally between the Yukon and BC. There are no guide outfits along the border for much of this zone in the Yukon (except the western portion) which enables big rams to be had. Yukon residents though, do hunt from their side.

6-27 is also another LEH unit, but it is east of Bennett Lake and most if not all sheep are coloured and are classified as fannins or Stone's. Lots of guys will say they shot a dall ram from this unit. However, they're quite coloured!! SSS and I also spent 2 weeks in this unit. Great place to shoot a cool fannin / light coloured ram.

We had two draws for 6-27A about 5 yrs ago. Saw lots of sheep and quite a few rams on 8 day hunt. Were lucky enough to get one ram. The big majority of the sheep we saw were snow white with just a black tip on the tail. A very small percentage had grey in them. Saw one ram that was a completely light grey color, it looked good standing in with the white rams.
