Shed polishing & engraving?

Buddy of mine found a great 3pt mulie shed a couple of years ago and it's in my garage for some reason...he just had a little boy the other day and I want to polish that shed up and have baby's name and birhtday engraved....has anyone done this and can recommend what to do/use to turn it into something ornate? thanks
