Well, this is my new puppy. I'm wondering if any of you can help me guess the breed/mix. He was abandoned up near Muncho Lake with his brother and 2 sisters. I suspect that the lady I got him from knows who abandoned the pups, but she didn't tell me. She said the pups are 2 months old.

I would have just taken some pics, but I can't find my camera:evil:

Damn, he's a good looking pup. Are his siblings the same colour? Looks like there is some lab in there with his colouration, but the ears look like they will stick up once he's older. Light coloured shepherd perhaps? By the looks of those paws, he'll be a good size once he's grown...

He is a cute little bugger, if I had to guess I would say Huskey and golden lab cross, I would think he is is a tad older than 8 weeks

The 2 females are black with the odd white patch (chest, toes,)
The other male is the same color as this one, but smaller and has a white blaze on his forehead.

I too suspect some lab, and another thing is that his hair is very silky but not straight, it's a little wavey. So, that coupled with his size almost makes me suspect Great Pyrenees might be in there somewhere.

My new pup looks very similar...

Her dad was a white German Shepherd and mom was a Yellow Lab.

After looking again at the shape of his forehead, you may be on to something with the pyrenees influence. With the black in the females, there is obviously some more mutt in there too. "Bitzer" as my father used to love to say...

When you pet your pup, and get a few shed hairs, are they straight or wavey?

Nice pup:wink:

Her hair has a little bit of waveyness to it, but it is mostly straight. She has a very Lab like coat.

Good call on the Pyrenees, after looking at the video again I could definitely see that in yours.

He looks like a Lab, Akita, Alaskan husky. His paws look Akita like and so does the fluffy patches under his ears. Judging by the size of his paws, he looks like he's going to be a big boy!!

The puppy is almost a dead ringer for my own dog when he was a puppy. See my Avatar. The Artful Dodger's a golden retriever/ siberian husky cross.

The rule around here is simple. NO DOGS IN THE HOUSE.......PERIOD. Unless "Mrs Rockdoctor" is away, then it's pretty much a free for all:-D.

Hopefully he enjoys swimming, and will take himself in for a bath when we get to the cabin.

I'm getting the impression that many breed/mixes look similar when young, perhaps I will get a better idea when he gets older. Right now I'm thinking Husky/Lab/Something and maybe something else as well:).

I would say Lab/ Shepard or Lab/Husky new someone that had a lab/husky from a pup that looked almost identicle. Sure had a lot of energy if I recall, did a lot of digging :). Looks like a great dog have fun training the new Jet boat dog.

You could take him to the vet and get his DNA checked. Not sure how much it cost though, but I've know people that have done it.

I would agree with this analysis. The coat looks husky.

because of the structure of the ears.. I am thinking some kind of herding dog with Golden Lab.

Boarder Collie, golden lab would be my best guess because of the rest of the litter.
