Well some friends of mine and myself just finished some major overhauled electrical issues on the Sculpin and we headed out for some sea trials that included some crabbing and prawning:-D.

They were calling for some snotty weather but we didn't see any of that.

Whipped back to the harbour and checked the crab traps.

We limited out no problem 45 minutes at the most (4 pots down). 12 keepers and made for an excellent dinner tonight:mrgreen:!

Thanks Shooter:-D. I used to windsurf alot and was right into it not that many moons ago. You guys always get hit harder with the fronts North of Nanaimo.

Why winterize?? Get out there fella:-D!!! My boat has been out 6 times since just before Christmas. Warm winter so why bother. Changed out all the oils and Salt away etc. Heater in the cabin when not using it. Ready to roll:-D!

Not me It is 365 days a year for me. I like the winter its really peaceful.

Nice looking bugs Johnny. So it looks like you run 4 prawn traps per string. I haven't bothered since they changed the regs requiring 2 balloons for more than 2 traps - I just do sets of two traps and one float. How does your system work for you, much more hastle with the extra float etc.?

Thanks Salty. Nope we're running two traps per line with one float. Traps are just stacked high for room:-D.

I'm so jealous, especially with the prawn winch looking like the one I built and have yet to try! I sit wistfully gazing at the snow on the lawn and boat in the driveway...just a month and a half and its good to go
