My 05 F-150 4.6L has the "bid tank" 135L. If I filler full and take er on a road trip I'll get around 870k's. I usually just fill up 65L and that will get me around 400k's, city and highway. I figure my truck is pretty good on gas considering I'm burning the same amount of fuel as my old truck which was a carb'd 4cyl 4Runner,and I'm running on 33's.

Hope this helps!

My dad had a 2006 f-350 for work, and it was a PIG! You couldn't get 400km on a tank of gas, it had an electronic throttle which was very touchy, the 6-speed transmission was not built for that engine as you have to put on the throttle to get it to not stall. It was a nice truck to drive and what not, but the seatbelt locks up constantly when you're driving off road. You also had to shift down on the most minute hill. It had no power; something like 255 hp and 300ft-lbs. torque. It was durable though, but not something i'd want in my garage.

Mine is 2005 F150, 130,000km, used truck, 5.4, i trie my friends' ram1500, avelanche, tundra..... the ram and tundra feels like have more power once i start and the stop sign. but i like ford brand better, so i just thinking about whether 350 have more power? but all these all tough truck for sure.

My 2006 F350 crew cab 4x4 with the 6.0 liter deisel and auto trans gets about 800 km to a tank on the highway. I've owned it since new and no problems yet, but I've only got 75000 kms on it.

Keep in mind when deciding between a f150 and f350, do you need a 350?
My buddy and I hunt using his 2002 f350 and the ride is rough because of the tight leaf springs that are rated for a heavier load, my f150 had a much smoother ride when on the off road. If you don't need the 350 don't get it, not to mention tha savings in gas.

Keep in mind that maintanance costs will be a lot more for the 350 than the 150. I prefer Dodge (had a few Chevs as well) and I get 3/4 or 1 tons due to pulling my trailer but everytime I get work done it sucks to pay the extra. If you don't need the extra pulling power or payload a half ton is the better way to go, and you can spend all that money you save on something important - like more guns -

i own a 2007 5.4 f150 and 2006 350 turbo 6lt. By far the 350 gets better milage and can tow more - the 150 has more punch off the line. The 05 350 had engine issues but were ironed out in 06. If you can afford definitly get the 2011 diesel. For hunting on roads the 150 is a smoother ride. I have the 4X4 off road package on the 350 and 150 is still smother.

I would steer clear of a 6.0l ford engine, they are a total pain in the ass, and will cost big dollars once it is off warranty. I just got back from the ford training course on the 6.7 and it is a really cool engine, tranny looks to be awesome as well. Problem is they are both all new and may have a few bugs to be ironed out it is hard to say for sure. Power and fuel wise I doubt there is a truck out there that can touch the 2011 fords. The F150 is a pretty good truck all around not many concerns with them, the newer f150 have a pretty high towing capacity as well.

Have owned a lot of Ford F Series.
Own a 99 F-350 with the 7.3 Powerstroke.
Gets between 15-19 mpg depending how far the seat is forward or back.
One thing about the F-350 is the insurance is the commercial rate, meaning higher than the lesser GVW's.
Had good luck with the 4.9 (300) six and decent mileage.
If you don't need the power, stay away from the diesels.
Not to mention oil change costs.
They drink a bunch of oil when filling the pan.
If kerch$ng isn't a problem, go with the diesel but stay away from the
6.0 litre.
They like the shop, exspecially if you chip them or play around with them.
Hope this helps.
