Okay you duck hunters whats up with this Mallard?
Photo taken today at Cowichan Bay. It's too early for eclipse phase?

I'll go with hermaphrodite, has both male and female characteristics. Be interesting to do a cloacal probe on that one!

Likely and early molt, the warm weathers got him mixed up .

Mind you, the orange beak looks hen like, the curlys drake like, no no molt ...... thats a He-She !

truly bizzarre...some female characteristics and some male...is that what it is?..a hermaphrodite? ive never seen that before. weird..thanks for sharing.

Something like that would be worthy of getting mounted. Pretty neat find for sure. Might have to go for a walk down the bay and see if I can locate this guy / girl for a few pictures.
