Saw a large black bear in Kamloops this morning. I was coming back from the gym just driving up the hill when this big bruin (275 lbs +) crossed the road right in town. Looked very alert and active. Think it has been up for a while anyway. This is definitely early for bear around here. Concern is that there isn't a lot of greenery out yet despite the warmer temps.
Best be gettin' the rifle zero confirmed and plan for early April for bear huntin'. It will be early this year me thinks. BUT - this is low elevation. The higher elevation hills (4500' +) still have a fair bit of snow. Second week of April on I'll be putting on some miles looking for a trophe class bruin.
