Region 6: Skeena???

I know someone that lives in Terrace and he said that the Moose hunting is awesome up there after you drive 3 hours north. I've been thinking of going up there instead of our spot near PG. Is the moose hunting better there than around PG?? I dont want any spots, I just want to know if it's worth my time to go there rather than my usual spot. Thanks for any help!!

I'd say no. Last I saw the moose season in 6-16 (roughly 3 hours from Terrace) the season was closed completly because of low numbers. Not even LEH. I've hunted around there a fair bit, and to think about I didn't see much for moose either. I'd go farther north or stay around PG if I were you.

Theres lots of good moose hunting farther north in reg 6 and no LEH.I'd put in for your usual area, and if you don't get drawn head north to an open area. IMO

I wouldn't say moose hunting would be better there than in PG. But if I were to say it's awsome up that way, I'd be lieing to you!

The area up that way gets more coastal, large mountains.

I lived in Hazelton(80 miles north of Terrace) for a good long time,moose hunting was great 12 years ago.Now the season is only 6 days long for GOS.Well after the rut too,starts Oct. 26.If you can get a draw for 6-30 in the Kispiox River area then it might be worth it.Watch out for "Stewards of the Land",they are the reason the season got knocked down to 6 days.6-8 and 6-9 are right in the area too but WAY more hunters.

i have hunted lots in region 6-2 over the years and always got our moose three last year.
