Hey guys!
Well we have been having a fantastic spring goose season! Since the opener, we've gotten out every Saturday and Sunday and the geese are definately around! My broken wrist has definately taken its toll on my aim as it's really hard to get a good shot with that damn cast! But hey, atleast I can still shoot!
Anthony was able to wake up this morning to come so our hunt was only made even better! We had some great chances this a.m. Dad was getting me to shoot early on, then joined in on the action later on.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY! So Anthony is playing with my Dad's old style 'long reed' goose call making pretty good goosy sounds with it... then a high flying single is spotted faaaar in the distance. So we straight up told Anthony to call in that goose. And 5 year old Anthony, with no help and no extra calling from either dad or I, coached this honker right into the 15 yard pocket!!! Both dad and I double tagged this one.. :wink: I couldn't believe it! Anthony coached this bird in all by himself! :shock: Both my dad and I were so happy and I was completly amazed! And I must say, his calling really did sound goosey!!
Grouped up 5 by the end of the morning. We all had a great time in todays beautiful clear weather.
