Well it looks like we will be getting a new puppy soon and the process of coming up with a name has begun in my family. The puppy will be a small hunting dog and would like a name that might somewhat reflect outdoors/nature/hunting. its becoming quite a challenge finding a name that everyone likes. Ultimately the final decision will not be made until we meet the new addition and see what tends to suit him. Just thought it might be fun to get some ideas from some of you on here. Got any good puppy names? The puppy will most likely be a male.

Lets hear you suggestions.

So far we have a couple that different members of the family have come up with.

Harley
Chase
Tucker
Gunner
Bailey
Busch
Nash

Got any others to add? Lets hear em. Or vote for one of those.

The most unigue doggie name I've ever heard was pronounced Dee-oh-gee, ie D-O-G. I kinda liked it, not sure how they spelled it though.

Here's something a bit different... 300 or maybe your favourite suitable calibre!? A Bud at work calls his border collie 200 (he told me the story behind his choice but I can't recall it at the moment) Some get it and others are just confused.

I've always wanted to call a dog SPUD but havent been allowed yet :D

I think you gotta wait a while once you have him to see what suits him. I think I read somewhere about people who didnt name their kids until there was something significant about them that kinda revealed what their name should be. Thought that was kinda cool. Gives your name some significance.

the dog may be named, "Carpet Crapper" or " Leg Hound", or "Arse Sniffer"

best to name the dog immediately just in case,,,

How about Cash
After the great Johnny Cash

I hear the train a comin'
It's rollin' 'round the bend,
And I ain't seen the sunshine,
Since, I don't know when,
I'm stuck in Folsom Prison,
And time keeps draggin' on,
But that train keeps a-rollin',
On down to San Antone

I met a dog trainer who said a dog's name should be "short, sharp and sweet" It should not sound like a command.

We used the Cosmic theme for my three pointers. Cassiopeia = Casey, Gemini = Gem and Chara. All are related to names of constellations or stars.

I always find that living with a pup for a week
or two THEN naming it works best. The name is
then more suitable, as it is earned....
