Well this is my first ever bear. I shot it last may with my bow. Spotted him from over 600 yards away and stalked him to within 10 yards. My arrow made a complete pass through and the bear didnt make it 20 yards before falling over. My friend was in town and said he would video tape the hunt for me. I think hes a litttle afraid of bears because he stopped following me when we got to within 200 yards so the shot didnt get caught on tape. The bear measured out at 6'6" from nose to tail. The coyotes dug up the skull so i dont have a measurement on it. Anyways cant wait till april to do it all over again

Janet Whelen from True Style Taxidermy in Prince George. Very pleased with her quality of work and I would reccomend her to anyone.

Awesome Bear! With the bow too! Too bad for the skull, nothing left of it? I'd be protecting the next one from those coyotes real good! That would've been a nice skull for sure! Good luck again this year!

Beauty bear! Great job on the rug as well!
You got it with a bow from 10 yards away huh?
Did it not hear your brass balls a-clackin', and run away? ;-)

Nice bear!:-D Too bad about the skull, maybe you should get a couple of coyote hides to replace it:wink:. I think I'm going to try for a bear with my bow this spring.

Yeah i should have put it in a wire cage.... i did bury it 3 feet down and piled about 500 lbs of logs overtop as well but i guess that wasnt enough. they just dug a tunnel... wire cage next time for sure though thanks

NICE bear ! Now measure the distance from front paw to front paw, furthest distance, add it to the length, nose to tail, and divide by two. That is the size of your bear. Why are you guys burying the head anyway? It is a real yucky way to get an ugly dirty skull if that is what you are after.
