I succumbed to all the advertizing as I was looking for a way to get my daughter a landline access without going to a large monthly fee. Since she has internet via cable I figured one of these may do the trick.
Well... except for the old router not being functional with it and having to change it out I was pleasantly surprised. The thing works great and with a vTech cordless phone attached it gives her phones in all the main rooms with calling anywhere in Canada and USA for the annual fee. I paid $10 more for a 604 area code number to go with it.
The hunting related part of this is that if you travel on hunting trips with your laptop and obtain wireless connection, the MagicJack will give you a way to phone home without paying cell phone long distance. (I know that Skype will do that too but this is pretty simple)
If you have been thinking about these, I can confirm, they do work!
