Okanagan Spring Opener

It's 5:00 AM,the decoys and layouts are loaded ,and in 10 minutes I'll be leaving to meet my friends.Today is my 60th birthday,and marks the beginning of my 44th year of waterfowling.I've been sitting here for 40 minutes,thinking about how much I love hunting ducks and geese,how I love to see the birds fly and the awesome places I have hunted them.Also the great people I've met over all those years who love the sport as much as I do.I wouldn't have missed a minute of it all,and it was all time well spent.Got to go,we've got a field with about 2,000 geese using it,and we expect a good shoot!I'll report in later.My very best to all of you that love this game,and care about it as much as I do,Cheers.....Gunner

Reading your post reminded me of the fun times I had as a kid hunting ducks and geesse with my dad and grandpa. Lots of good memories of hunting Pitt Poler mash out in Maple Ridge, trips back to Alberta visiting friends and hunting geesse, oh what a grand time that was for a 16 year old kid.

Sadley since the passing of dad and grandpa I have hunted ducks and geesse here and there but have slowly lost the will power to go out any more. Maybe one day I will find someone and try duck hunting again.
