What do people use? Kind of semantics I guess, as if you know the distance and your drops its all good....
Just can't decide if I should wait the three weeks for a leica 1200 in metres, or go with the yards model now....

id really like to trade in for a meter model.

Why's that?
I have my own ideas in mind of why I may want a meters model, but I'm just not sure if it makes a difference to me or not.

I got 1200 in yards, because yards sounds less dorky

Probably not....Doesn't really make any difference I suppose, its all just a unit of measurement.
Just caught me by surprise when I was asked if it made a difference to me or not.

I can change my 1200 leica to both settings. Can't do that with the new ones??

Yards. Most scopes and custom turrets are all in yards.

You must have an LRF....
CRF's apparently are one or the other.

Yeah, thats pretty much what was the deciding factor for me....I use both turrets and multi-point reticles.

I agree, if you have ranging issues that require different units of measure then buy one that does all three other than that, just pick whatever unit of measure works for you!!~~~~

I can't imagine having a range finder that doesn't have the option to switch back and forth.

Same here - even the Bushy Legend, etc can be switched over. But, if not on your desired model, then I would say yards. Most ballistics charts are in yards FWIW as well, of course they are only a guide, but in yards none the less.

Isn't the yard one cheaper too?
Cameraland 530 bucks for the yard one, or 700 for the dorky meter one.
Leica 1200 that is.
Where i hunt fencelines, roads, and directions are in yards, so that's what I went with....+ yard are shorter than meters so your shots sounds more impressive!

The Leica 1200 CRF is the simply the best there is for flat yardage.

Just a matter of time til they release the one that compensates for angles.

How old are you? I'm of the age that I hate the new "meter-age"...
Yards - all the way.
How long is a Canadian Football field?!? Or American for that matter.
