Are black widows and hobo spiders out at this time of year?? The vet thinks my dog has a spider bite on her chin (really bruised and swollen and had blister on it) and the only place she could have got bit was either in my house (hopefully not!) or in the backyard (I live in downtown Kelowna). She is on antibiotics and anti imflammatories and will keep and eye on it. Has any one had a similar experience?

Thanks

I had to go nuclear...inside and out. Haven't seen one inside in 3 years.

I have them in my shop. The shop is heated so winter doesn't make much of a difference. I bought some aracnicide spray and have sprayed the corners and crevices and haven't seen any movement in quite some time now. I hate friggin spiders and have had a few bites in the past. They're nothing to joke about. Extremely painful and if not treated quickly can really screw you up in all sorts of ways.

Hobo Spiders are an alien species that are native to Europe. They first made their appearance around the Port of Seattle in the early 1930's and have since spead up and down the Pacific Northwest, Oregon, Washington, BC and Alaska

With the weather we are having right now I wouldn't be surprised to see them outside.
