''vic and oak bay area'' -chickens or big guys? I thinks some halibut are resident while others are transient

Still lots of halibut out off victoria i did 3 trips this week i had 5 the first day then a couple 10 fish days.Great fishing as feb is usualy a tuff month for them.Finding them in 240 to 270 ft of water. Most fish are 20-30lbs but did have a couple around 50.

Great tides this weekend if the weather permits.

anything over 60 lbs is pretty much a garantee to be female .. i am a firm believer that any that side should be released if at all possible to help keep stocks healthy .. besides the barn doors are wormy and do not taste as good as the smaller ones .. and i have eaten alot of halibut lol

just my 2 cents

We caught a 150pnder off winters harbor a few years ago, and it was by far the best eating halibut I have ever had.
