$200-$300 depending on the model. different strokes, for different folks. Some things are worth what you pay for them.

Brett do you own a few pieces of the stuff? I would like to hear some reviews on this equipment. It looks great but I think you have to use the whole system?

i do now, I've read a lot on it and if you look at it it's not very heavy, i guess the best way to put it is you need to layer as you should anyway. the under layers do not need to be sitka products. And you should only need to layer if you are going to be in colder weather than that article is recommended for.

You don't neccessarily have to have the whole system, but it definetly helps. Without a doubt the most expensive out there, but I've spent double that just trying to find the stuff I actually like. The best on the market right now.

And that's after a 40% discount??? Ouch.

Is it just me or is the new pattern material louder? Which is a better all around outfit the 90% or the accent?

Brett

do you mean noisier? I think and was recommended to get the 90 over the accent

Ascent is a great spring bear/early season jacket/pant, if you're doing alot of physical exertion and need a light, breathing fabric. Once it starts to get +5 or cooler, 90% (which is the most versatile jacket/pant) is the way to go.

Walmart has the Remington 5 in 1 parkas for $100 :-D

By louder I mean brush your hand agianst it simalar to a branch brushing agianst it.
I find I need to dress alot warmer in the spring. I find I do alot more hiking and the days are lot warm in sept-oct. I like their product but I cant afford both suites.
Will the new product quiet down once it is warn and washed?

go with the 90%. I dont find the Sitka gear to be overly noisy at all. The DWR water repellent finish is what you're probably hearing. If you want absolute quiet, try fleece or wool and live with the downsides :)

how would you rate the 90% performance in the rain?

havent used the 90% in the rain (didnt get it until November) but I used the Ascent pants in wet brush. It was ok, but they're very thin with no insulation so it was cold. I wore my Celcius bibs in the pissing rain in Squamish while hunting blacktails, was good for the first few hours. If you're looking for waterproof check out the Nimbus line

I like mine. Makes me feel like a "hunter".

I have only tried sitka on in the store, but from what I've seen and want in hunting clothing, it looks bang on. Out of their lineup, I think the 90% line is the way to go for myself. I do the majority of my hunting around Kamloops in late fall.

Husky,

They developed the new patterns based on "animal vision"...as opposed to the Mossy Oak style patterns which were designed with human eyes in mind. I'm told that even though this stuff can appear loud to us, hoofed animals simply cannot see it.

The 90% is a thicker, soft shell type material and the Ascent is a stretchy, very thin material. Both are great, but in different weather situations.

Cheers

I have the Ascent pants and shirt. I use them in late Sep and early Oct when climbing up for Mountain Goats and would recommend them to all. They are thin and dry real quick. My only complaint is that they may be too thin and be very carefull not to snag them as they do tear easily.

Rivers West Pants are great. They have been good on the Wet Coast.
I am looking for a Rivers West Lakota jacket now. I think the fleece liner is the key to comfort and warmth.

I think I've found the best system for top layering. All winter I've been going with Ice Breaker base layer, Sitka Transverse shirt next, Under Armour 1/4 zip and then the Sitka Celcius vest. When the afternoons warm up like they have been, I drop the middle 2 layers and go with the I/B and vest. I agree it is pricey, but I would rather pay a little more to be comfortable.
