Here is the nice 5x3 (I suppose theoretically at 4x3, but nice start to the fifth) - the video of him a couple of months ago shows how big the rack really is (this one's too close) - the private land I hunt is 160 acres and the deer don't even go near the fruit trees on the property - those of you who think hunting blacktail is like shooting fish in a barrell should try talking to my wife about how much time and energy I put into getting one chance a year (maybe I'm just a bad hunter) - or perhaps you should try hunting Sumas yourself if you think it's so easy. I had no idea FN could NOT hunt this way (I thought they were permitted), I was simply lamenting the lack of fair chase. I know there are bad apples in every barrell. Thanks for all the info and opinions.

"Blacktails are like shooting fish in a barrel". I don't think anyone thinks that. I guess the only place they are easy to shoot is Pemberton.

Brows are not normally counted for Blacktail or Muley Point count here in Canada. Whitetail Yes.

They get scored if they make a minimum size to constitute a point.:-D

Not saying official B/C stuff here Gatehouse.
You know your self, what do you call the nice B/T you got with Proguide, or the one he got, Brow points generally are not counted in round the table discussion if they are B/T's or Mulies here, unlike W/T or Americans that count everything. The 5 x 3 in question, would be called a 6x4 if it were W/T or a 10 point to our friends to the south.

Do you not agree?

I'd call the one in the pic a 5x3 with brow tines....The queston of counting brow tines gets sorta blurry when the brow tines are bigger than the points up top!

This one I got in 2007, he has 4 on one side, and 4 + a little sticker (smaller than a brow tine) So do we count the sticker since it's up top and not a brow tine and call it a 4x5?

And her eis one I shot on the last day of th eseason 2009

He also has a couple of little points up top, in fact one of them wasn't even scoreable!

And the one I took with proguide this year, which is essentilaly "normal" and easy to say it's a 3x4 or 3x4 with brow tines, or if you want- a 4x5...

The point I am making is that just calling something a 3x5 doesn't tell the whole picture. How about if it has big brows but tiny points up top? What about if it has no brow tines?

Finally- and most importantly- Who cares that much?

If someone wants to call the deer in the original picture a 10 point, who am I to argue? It does indeed have 10 points! ha ha ha!

Nice bucks Gate !

Good B/T's

As you say, 3x4 4x4 4x5 whatever. I've always noted around here being our province BC any way if a guy gets a good BT or Mulie it's described as a nice 4x4 with good brows too or a 3x4 with huge matching brow points, but if were a WT, being they do get large far more then any Mulie or BT they are counted in. I've never known the hard core guys to count them in the way the Americans do on Mulies or W/T's.
I prefer our Canadian way hahha

Go Canada !!

what a shame! we have seen a couple like that up there. I called in to the CO last year reporting a violation. I witnessed 2 guys shooting does with rifles up there. pissed me off!
