I just bought my self a ew PSE Nova bow, that is readyt to shoot. All that is needed is a release and the arrows. I would like some advice for arrows and a release.
Thanks
Burke

Good starter release is also a Carter.
As for arrows I would highly recommend Gold Tip Ultra Light 400's tough carbon arrows. I miss a lot but these arrows don't punish me that much.

BurkeCome over to Chase and see Tim at Tim's Archery World. Bring the bow should you come.
As far as releases are concerned, I've had a host of them. The ones I use now are from Fletcher and Winn. I prefer the C-12 Relax from Winn, but sadly, this one is no longer in production. The C-12 is like shooting with fingers, only way easier and far more accurate.
One thing about releases, choosing one that you like will not be an easy affair. One man's preference will be another man's bane.

I forgot to mention arrows - Gold Tip all the way, as Mike recommended. Reasonably priced. Tough as nails. Available just about everywhere.

For hunting I'd go with the Expedition Hunters. What's the draw weight of the bow? If it's 60 lbs or less you will need the 5575's. If it's close to (or above) 70 lbs, you'll need the 7595's.

draw weight is 45-60 pounds

Well, depending on the length of the actual shaft, you could even get away with the 3555's (if they're cut to something like 27"). The 3555's are a tad lighter in g.p.i. as well as spine, but by cutting them shorter you gain a lot of stiffness.

If I remember right I have a 29" length of pull

The Winn release is my favorite. It is just like shooting with fingers, only using the release. Love it.

I'd like to know what you're using for an arrow rest before getting down to specifics about arrow spine, length, and all that, because most arrow rests these days mount a bit behind the bow shelf - giving you the opportunity to shorten your arrow length and thus gaining some speed.

The bow comes with a whisper biscuit

WB's are good - especially for hunting.

You can still (I believe) cut your arrow shafts down to around the 28" mark - measure at full draw to be sure, though. There's no need for the arrow to be sticking out an inch or two beyond the bow. Chop it off and gain some speed plus lose some weight...

I have ordered a Winn C10 release from Bass Pro. I believe I will be getting the gold tip arrows, as they seem to be highly recommended.
My next question is which arrow would be best for my purpose. This bow will be mainly used for target practice and maybe the odd 3D shoot, and some hunting. Which Gold Tip arrow would you suggest for all around usage.
Thanks
Burke
