hey to all who views this..... well everyone it was a long 8month wait for some reason but i finally got my black bear rug back. takin on may long weekend 2009 from nose to tail he was 5foot 10inches... he had a nice size melon on him too :)... well here are some pics enjoy!!!

twojoints was able to add one more decent pic..... yes everyone has been tellin me i got a smokin deal on it :) so thats makes me happy that i didnt get ripped off or anything :) cuz its my first mount

Congrats on the rug Matt! It looks great from the photos you posted. Sounds like a good deal as you posted. Nice taxi for a reasonable price...........what's not to like:-D.

I have never had a rug done before and I'm aiming (more like saving) for one this spring.

I'm no trophy hunter by any means but the memories that come with something like this interest me to no end.

I heard it was sex in a canoe as well but sex on a bear rug sounds great:-D.

Sex on a goat rug just doesn't cut it for me sorry game hunter:mrgreen:.

I would like to see close ups of the head/paws. If good I would consider using this taxidermist. Even with the drive, those prices are TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE! Can you take some more photos of the mouth, face, eye detail please?

So would I. you usually get what you pay for. Looking at a photo like this is no way to tell if it's a good mount.

Good looking rug! Definitely worth the price! Bear rugs are so expensive these days. Your camera is giving the eyes a wierd blue look, but I bet in real life its pretty sweet. Maybe try a photo with out the flash?

Some taxidermists cut out the sides of the rug like yours did, others leave the belly hair and armpits x4 in the rug. Not sure which I like better though.

Also, I can't really see what the ears are doing. Are they laid flat or standing, they are kind of camouflaged in? Close up pic?

Felt color is obviously preference and that is the classic color of a bear rug, though its not my favorite that was your choice, and it looks like it was well done.

thanks big boar, ya my flash is makin the eyes look blue so here is one with out the flash, it was difficult to get a good pic seeing as he is hanging on the wall, and for the ears they are layed back,

hmmmm congradulations on a fine bear..something about how the head is isnt absolutley life like...cant wrap my brain around the issue..

I have always preferred black felts double layers on a black beare brown with brown etc..and instructed the taxi not to cut the flank hide..leaves a more solid, massive preentation..imo..

Price was PHENOMINAL..under 1/2 the going rate at least...

nice looking rug man, I'd be happy with that forsure. i like how the ears are kinda tucked back. still waiting for my rug....comming up 2 yrs this spring.
