Can you use an underwater light to atract fish in the dark when icefishing?
I`m always up by 5 A.M. and I`d be on the lake by 6 if I could.

Never mind,I found it.Yes you can but the light has to be atached to the line within 1 meter of the hook.

Well, if you check the regs it says this
Use a light in any manner to attract fish,
unless the light is submerged and attached
to the fishing line within 1 m of the hook.
Clear as mud?

I got some miniture cylume style lights for Christmas that are for fishing. I haven't tried them yet. Kinda thinking the damm fish might go after them and eat them instead.

I have sold 1000W MH underwater lights to Squid fisherman, they use them at night to lure squid into the jig field.
I guess you could attach it to a line but its about 35lbs with a cord to a ballast that runs 10A @ 120V
Check 'Halibut.net' they sell lights for fishing. I bought mine from them for Hali.,,,they worked for me.

Has anyone ever had success for trout with those "line lights"? Buddy had a little submergible flashing light that he tied by his hook, but we both caught similar numbers of fish when he tried it.
