Now I am in the soup. A week ago we came to the realization that we had organized this shoot for the same day that the gold medal game would be played. We planned this months ago without taking the Olympics into consideration. There is a TV in the clubhouse where the registration will take place but there isnt cable or satellite hooked up there. There are rabbit ears on the TV but we don't think that we can get CTV. Bottom line is I don't think we will have the game there. We thought about changing the date of the shoot because of the game but we have to continue on as many have already made plans. I think that we will lose some shooters because of the game, unfortunate.

We have it posted that the shoot will start at 0830 hrs. but we will now open at 0730. This will allow some of you to get the best of both worlds, that is to get two rounds in for the shoot and catch the game. Thats the cleanest dirtiest shirt for now. Go Canada.

I'll be there and looking forward to seeing a lot of shooters. The hockey game will be played whether we watch it or not but the 3D shoot requires our presence.

thats exactly it jack, these shoots are put on so clubs are able to raise funds so that the clubs are able to offer oppertunities to the future of our sport,be it with bows or rifles.
3d shoots also benifit us when it come to being on top of our game when it comes to crunch time and that animal of a lifetime comes within our range.
although i havent missed a day of watching the limpics i know that they will re-play the game and its possible to even record it,wow what a concept huh,lol
peter i'm hopeing ya still get at least your usual turnout

If the shooting starts at 7am i think i will just say at home. For the betterment of our sport we need to get people to stay tell the end . Not shoot and take off . I my opinion their is nothing worse then driving 2 hours to get there. And then coming off the corse and have everyone gone home.

Harnocks, I think you are misreading. We are opening up the course early so that those who want to watch the game can do so. There are actually a few people who have told me that they wont be watching it, so its a regular shoot with an earlier start to accomodate an unusual circumstance and how many people are wanting to watch, I have no idea. I won't be leaving early, nor will the fellows who helped me set up the course this morning. So come on down and enjoy as per usual. We changed the course a bit this year as well. We like the end product and yo probably will as well.

Thanx Penticton 3D club , enjoyed the shoot today

Just curious as to "The Archers Choice survey "
your favourite shot on the course today ?
Mine was the Buck down in the draw shooting high up on the ridge

The target that gave you the most trouble ?
Mine was the razorback on the first go-around and the texas heart shot turkey on the 2nd go-round !

See you all in Summerland !!

Thanks Ruger and to all the others that attended todays shoot. We were astounded at todays attendance. We set a record for our shoot, 123 shooters. We were hoping for 60 and thought that the gold medal game would knock us down to 40. So attendance was well beyond our expectations. The weather was perfect, everyone liked the course and we all enjoyed ourselves.

I had a great time today. That was a great layout.

Had to hurry out to watch the hockey but I wish I would have shot another couple rounds.

See you at the next shoot.

Welcome, Kerriain.

Please note that this thread is a year old and the Feb 28 date is for 2010. The shoot scheduled for this year is on Sunday Feb 27, 2011.

Shoot schedule : www.angelfire.com/bc/canuck2/3D2011.html (http://www.angelfire.com/bc/canuck2/3D2011.html)

Also welcome to the addictive world of archery. There will be all types of equipment and skill levels and your 3 pins will be fine. Coupled with your pin settings will be your ability to judge distances and do your sighting accordingly, since distances will be unmarked. As a new shooter, you won't expect to set the world on fire but there will be many veterans who will be glad to help you in any way possible. 3D is extremely fun; look forward to seeing you there.
