So, you would like a story. Well there is not much of a story to tell as it doesn't get much easilier then this ram. Left home on Aug. 18/99 drove up the highway and met with buddy who had already connected on a ram which he claims was not the ram he thought it was [34 in.]. Guess I have to believe him ????. Anyways we met up and drove to our take off point and away we went. Forgot to mention that there was another buddy with us from work. We got to our destination and made camp. As it was getting late in the day we just scouted around looking over the new area. It poured rain that night and part of the morning, so plans where changed to go to the same valley that my buddy shot the other ram in. When we got up into the valley, luck was with us as the sheep where there. 14 rams in total with mine being the largest. Stalked towards the rams and got to approx. 450 yards from them. One of the smaller rams had us pegged. So we stopped and set up spotting scope and surveyed the rams. They started to move up the mountain in single file. My buddy was watching with the scope and telling me which one was my ram. He was second from the end so when he stepped out all by himself I pulled the trigger. He did not budge, so my buddy said hit him again which I did. Down he went. Then there was high fives and some whopping and hollering. Scooted up to where the ram laid and started taking pictures. {35mm which I have to put on disk.} Caped and deboned ram. Loaded up packs and headed back to camp arriving just at dark. Spent night in camp. Got up the next morning and my second buddy says there is no way in H E double hockey sticks that he was going to climb one more mountain so we packed up camp and went back to our trucks. Headed for home. Had to stop in Ft.Nelson to pick up other ram and discovered that we could not get it out of the freezer until the next day so we spend the night in Ft. Nelson. Got up the next morning, picked up ram and headed for home arriving before supper. Trip started on Aug 18 and was home Aug 21. Not bad for a sheep hunt.
