Just came across this...Mulie vs Whitetail

Just came across these pics. I think its from the states somewhere. Has anyone else ever seen or heard of a whitetail fighting with a mule deer?

I actually seen a small mulie buck trying to take on a whitetail ... over by Summerland, BC. And there are inter mixing between white-tail bucks and mulie does.

Why wouldn't they fight with each other. Mule deer and whitetail bucks do breed each others females so it stands to reason that they also fight with each other for breeding rights and territory.

I few years ago there was a mule deer and whitetail found locked together in Penticton.

I see them running together in every combination you could think of, quite frequently! Why wouldnt they fight over breeding rights????
I think the locked antlers says it all!

Whitetails are more aggressive than mule deer, and will take over the habitat eventually, the shy mule deer needs time to relax.
The whitetail bucks are something to see when rutted, big shoulders and his rack when down has tines coming off the main beam, so he gets inside of the muley bucks rack which forked and forked, and gores the muley's face into venison burger...and blinds the eye.
Whitetail in the states compete in mule deer traditional area now, and mule deer hunter's clubs there, are trying to stop the whitetail from spreading.
Whitetails fawns breed first gestation from birth at 7 months, whereas only a couple muley fawns will get estrus. So whitetails increase in population faster.
Muley breeds two or so weeks before the whitetails.

I saw a Whitetail put the chase on a much bigger Mule deer.
The Whitetail used his antlers and poked the Mulie in the rear end several times chasing him out of the area.
The both had nice racks.
