Any recommendations for a light, tough and stable tripod for backpack hunting? I use to have a little Bushnell tripod that weighed almost nothing, and was about 8-10 inches high, but I misplaced it a couple years ago :-|. I've looked at Gorillapods, but they seem "jittery". Any suggestions??

Slik 613CF.
I took the center tube out to make it even lighter.
I put a Jim White tripod head on it to hold my swaro 65hd.

I have a Gitso carbon fiber tripod which extends to 64" high and is solid. It has a Manfrotto pan head on it now, but, I am going to buy a Jim White for it this summer. I am on my third spotter and it is a Leica 62 Armoured, just a fabulous glass and the Gitso holds it rocksolid.

I have one made by K & K Outdoors and it seems really nice. Kind of pricey, but very solid.

This past season I bought an Induro A-013 Alloy 6M Tripod (extends to 54") with a Manfrotto 128RC Micro Fluid Video Head. I havent had it that long so I can't say how great it really is. However, I'm pretty finicky about my stuff and I would buy it again. The bare tripod weighs 2.69 lbs and is still on sale for $80.00
