reported it by phone this morning. didn't know about that site. so i just finished the online report. and it was banded 06/03/2003. in alaska. don't know how long they live. but that one managed to dodge hunters and preadators for at least 7 years. thanks for the tip on the site..... k.k.

Hey that's cool. I guess having the gun smith put that custom cast stock on your 870 has paid off.

That is too cool. Who would of thought that they would go to the trouble of trying to catch one of those little buggers to put a band on them.

Must have tasted like eating a MUD BULLHEAD.

I'll stick to the Puddlers thanks.

To each his own though, congrats.

recieved an e mail from the bird banding lab requesting a picture of the band be sent to them to verify. because the migration path of this bufflehead was so unusual. turns out it was banded 30 miles east of fairbanks alaska.

Thats cool, do they send you a letter of authenticity etc or just a e-mail. The reason I ask that is years ago I shot a banded mallard from Wash state and they asked for the band and then sent me a real nice document..Still have it at my parents house...
