i just traded a 243 for a pse viper rattler crossbow, i am new to the sport, what can i expect from this bow? it came with an excaliber scope and 6 bolts. the scope has numbers from 250 to 350 on it, and 3 dots for range, what are the numbers for? also the scope has a dial on side wich tilts the scope? an info would be great as i siad i am very new to the sport only have used a crossbow at range once or twice. thanks in advance.

the rattler is a decent crossbow. you should know that the safety on that bow is easily disengaged. if you're gonna walk in the bush with it cocked and on "safe" check it often as the safety will click off very easily and become very unsafe. the 3 dots on the scope will be for range. mine is set for 30 yd., 40yd., and 50yd.
Have fun and practice lots.

The numbers on the scope are arrow speeds, do the math on lbs of pull and arrow weight to find out fps then turn it to the right speed is up. The guy at chilliwack dart and tackle knows alot about excalibur stuff. As for the "dots" excal use the crosshairs as 20 yard and add ten yard per "dot" so 10 yards is one above the cross and 50 is three under the cross.

bear buster - give PSE a call (or email) and I'd bet that they'll send you an owner's manual for your bow.
