Looking through the regs here to no avail.
Is a species licence required for coyote?
I saw a trail cam pic of a coyote dragging a fawn away and thought
I'd contribute to some predator control in my area.
NBL in 8 so there must be a very high number of coyotes.

No species license necessary for coyotes. Just a valid hunting license. And you are correct - lots of coyotes in region 8. Wolf numbers seem to be increasing too, but no season - yet...

Honestly I don't know. I'll take that as a no.

lynx yes, bobcat yes

all species tags will be listed in the front of the regulations which can be found at your local sporting store, or online on the governments site

Aberdeen plateau east side of Kelowna, I hunt the north end around Vernon. Head out to lake country and up the hill turn at the boat on the side of the highway and head up from there, loads of yotes up there.

That's great. Thanks again.
I think you're talking about Beaver Lake Road.
Not alot of snow this year. Should be easy going up there.

It is last time I was up there (Nicklen) there was n't even a foot and the weather has been warm since. They might not be as hungry as they should right now though, heavy snow is good for their food (snowshoe hare) and with less snow the yotes should have a better success rate, but hey its better than sitting at home and posting on HBC grab a call and shoot some yotes. I have called in a couple this year, get out at first light get out and listen for them try to get close then setup and call. And yes it is Beaver lake road its been awhile since I have gone in that way.

Pete K, reread page 10 for the species license fees to see if you need a licence and then look to the bottom of the table where it says small game. The refer to the def'n of small game on page 5 of the regs. Read it closely and understand. Maybe reread the regs from cover to cover to get a better understanding of what is stated within it before you go out hunting in the future.
