Everything I heard about Ray Wiens is true. He does excellent work. Its nice that you mounted that cat with a calm expression, its a nice change from those menacing expressions you see sometimes. Thats a beautiful mount.

I've only ever stumbled across 2 in the wild; neither was hissing and pissing at me... I like this - It's as though you stumbled upon him and he's wondering, WTF???

And one more full size. I think I like the higher contrast lighting better in this; it better defines some of the cats muscle groups AND it holds some of that Halloween Horror look.

Nice to see him up on your wall. Like the new pics, they do him better justice. Ray does indeed do some great work. Can't wait to get my son's goat and bear back from him later on this year.

Never make a full judgement call on this stuff with just viewing a pic.
FWIW, this Tom has been scrutinized "as is" by several highly regarded Cat Killers and Houndsmen.... If you're ever in the 'hood' and would like a preview, try giving me a shout.

Great looking addition to the 'menagerie'. I bet there are a lot of people here who would pay an admittance fee just to tour your house!

@%$&!..... Which reminds me - There's an "extensive" taxiderm exhibit on NOW @ the Vancouver Museum (near the Maritime Museum). I just HAFTA go and see it.

I'll post a link in a new thread.

To cool Dean, do the cat and bear share the same wall?

LOL!!! No.

This thing needed  6 feet  of horizontal wall space.
Then it needed ~ 5 feet of *unobstructed* vertical (unless ya wanted to push its head into the ceiling).... That means "no-go" for having a couch underneath, with ANY retention of hopes in actually using it.

It guards my office space, over in White Rock.
