Well dad and I hit our favourite duck hunting fields again this AM. This time we hunted in one of the dry fields with large puddles instead of sticking to the fully flooded section. Longshot sr. fealt better this morning as he has been really sick for the past week. And what a fun day it was!!!
Day started off foggy and wet. Not to much action around shooting time. Around 8:15 the ducks started moving. Almost all widgeon and a few mallards. So we shot 6 widgeon by 9:30.
Then the mallards started moving around and didn't quit! So then we decided now mallards only. For next hour it was great shooting and we got our 16 by 10:30. We sat in the blind for an hour chatting and eating, and watching ducks upon ducks landing in the deeks. Very neat sight. We even had a few mallards land 20 feet away!
So it was a great day and the best duck shooting this season! It was definately something to cheer up Longshot sr. after being sick for a whole week! I got a new camera for my B-Day last week, so here's some pics for you guys:
These birds ended up landing in our spread after circling a bunch of times:
