View Full Version : Sheep picture Thread

I got sheep on the brain and I want to get some pictures of the animals and the hunts. This is not ment to be a disscussion thread, nothing needed other then pictures. Locations, who shot it, where it was shot, the entire story is not needed...

I am not meaning to be a dink, but I am not interested in the arguments that insue on 99% of sheep threads!

Looks like it. Lets hope it was just some funky lighting or the camera. It would suck if that were a pink eye infection.

Some pics from my dall hunt this summer, the sheep up there are definatly friendly. That one ram is no more than 10 feet from my camera. If anyone is tossing around the idea of going dall sheep hunting do it now, you can find some very good deals, espicailly is you call around june they will cut ya a very good price if they arent fully booked.(this last year very few outfits were fully booked)

Picture from 08. I had a few more pics from different years, but being a lazy guy I didn't upload them all to my computer and just left them on my camera. I lost them all when I was fishing in Cabo and had about a dozen Pacifico's in me and about 6 vodka and limes. Camera's do not like to go swiming in the ocean.

Thanks, took forever to get it in there cause my pics weren't high resolution. Should have another coming out in Eastmans in the near future.
The trip was a once in a lifetime for sure. He offered me the horseshoe but I refused cause it still smelled like his ass.

My dad hunted with him in the 80's when he worked for Stan Stevens, I think he was around # 125 or something. That is a tonne of rams! I'd love to sit and listen to some of his sheep stories.

Danny grew up in fort st john and I have known him for a long time. he has a passion for sheep hunting that is unbelievable.
really down to earth and fun to be on a hunt with. this ram was in a real hole the absolutely worst place i have ever shot a ram.
I was hesitant to shoot, but Danny said if you can hit him ( it was a really long shot) we will get him out of there.
I killed the ram and he just looked at me and "shit i never thought you would hit him." a lot of fun.

I came off a mountain a few years back and stoped in a toad river lodge to have lunch, danny walks in so i tell him i have a ram in my truck he should look at.We go outside and i pass this ram head to danny and ask him how long and what the sheep would score and he looks at the ram for 5 seconds and tell me it 40 and would score 169.I take the ram home and got it scored and it was exactly 40 and 168 1/2 .that was pretty damn close and a person really needs to know what he is talking about to be so accurate.Thats my thoughts on danny, good guy, good hunter...brad
I have three rams on my wall with the help of Mr. Moore, liked your comment, as Dan would say,"right on!"

Figured that was prime habitat???????
You guessed right if you look at the large spruce tree to the east you will see a large tree blind that the GO put there and you dont have to go far to water the horses . Good luck with your hunt maybe post a picture or 2 of your "sheep"

No pictures of sheep - couldn't find any. Figured that was the secret spot. Hunting sheep for years, have yet to see one.

I've heard there's one heck of a hot spot somewhere up north for them rock's sheep - any hints??

Go to the creek where that guy lost that horse in '97.
Turn left, UP the hill for four days, where that plane crashed, but they never found it.
Button-hook for 30K and set up where that Moose took it's last shit.
That's the spot.
Don't tell anyone.

You just described a bunch of the trails in the north except there's no moose left, the wolves ate them all.

Howdy, I have an idea where you may be able to see some sheep and 60% chance of shooting a full curl if interested. Long drive but might be worth it. Later

Here's one from the 'archives'. This was the first sheep hunt I ever took part of. He was a heavy ol' bugger.

I meant to say the client was a heavy old bugger...I guess the ram was too. This is a NWT sheep.

Hey KES, I got to guide Marc on his return trip this year. I heard the story of that hunt, it was quite an adventure, pretty whiley ram! We hunted Scratch post and then Jerry's. Killed on the last day.

Oh right on! He was a pretty decent guy, it was definitely a wild hunt. It was a good initiation for me into the world of sheep hunting.

That's not actually my pack. And ya I agree, it is a bit risky!
